The Shah’s Swiss watchmaker

Zurich watchmaker Rudolf Stadler came to a bloody end on 16 October 1637. At the age of 32, the first Court watchmaker to the Shah of Persia in Isfahan was executed by sword.

Pascal Kählin, Jonas Schwarz and Michel Mono are the owners of Bar 63. They’ve turned this pub on ‘the most beautiful corner in Zurich’ into a Mecca for rum lovers.

This is still gaming – but of the analogue variety. At Switzerland’s first board game café, the DuBischDra, which means ‘It’s your turn’ in English, participants play face to face. As Florian Widmer is well aware, this is good for the soul.
