He could have had the perfect career as a photographer – an SLR camera as a confirmation gift, a trial apprenticeship with a photographer, an internship with a photo agency. But it all turned out differently and Jürg Lauber did a commercial apprenticeship instead. It was to be another 35 years before the IT specialist gave it another shot. He took a sabbatical from 2012 to 2014 but, instead of kicking back in the Maldives, he spent every day wandering around the city and producing his photography book Zürich in Bewegung (Zurich in Movement). He never went back to the office.
